l have a 1999 Grand Am. l wanna install my radar detector so its hooked up to my ignition. So it turns on with my car and off with it. Can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to do this or tell me where l can find instructions on it. If there is more than one way, please let me know. Thank You.

On MOST newer cars, the lighter outlet is switched and is off when the ignition is off. Check yours.

l am not sure exactly how to do this on your car model, but l would look up diagrams for connecting a stereo amplifier. You can easily remove your stereo and wire the radar detector to the remote wire in the back of the stero where you would wire the amp. It will turn on and off with the ignition and it will also be an easy way to hide the wire.
