it makes a click sound

A little more info would be helpful. Does it turn over? What happens when u try to start it? Come on u expect a miracle answer with no info. It clicking usually is starter but occassionally it can also be battery.To have starter checked it has to be removed & taken to autozone or carquest or checkers. If hooking jumper cables up to it & it starts take the car to have the battery tested. On the rare occassion it can also be alternator if u can get car started remove positive cable on battery if car stays running ur alternator is fine if it dies ur alternator is bad.

Is it clicking? (dead battery) (or see if your horn beeps)

Is it cranking but not running? (could be tons of things)

l could be a HUGE number of different things. You r going to have to describe what it does, what it sounds like, & what it feels like. Also include any recent maintenance or repairs. If u supply that l can give u a relatively good guess as to what it is.

Clicking could be the starter is solenoid not firing correctly. If u can get the car to an Autozone (or similar) they should be able to test ur starter.

More info would help, but that is my guess with what you've said.

l get it that it wont start but we would need more information to diagnois a car that we have never seen...


You might try to turn on the lights and see if they are dim
See if the radio works
Depending on the results, they might suggest that you have a bad battery


If it is 'trying' to start, it might be that you have a bad starter
again, hard to guess but l would check out those things first
