l have a 2002 Sunfire with a 2.2L. l have a cold air intake, a throttle body spacer and performance spark plugs for mods and l was thinking about buying a 2001 Grand Am with a 3.4L V6. l was wondering if the Grand am would be way faster than my sunfire? Are they better cars?

2001 Grand Ams have many problems. l had one and l had to do over $800 in work on it. in the one year l had it. Good luck.

If you want performance ..get a 98 to 2002 Firebird Trans Am..not too expensive..the Grand Am has a bigger engine but it is heavier.your Sunfire is lighter and modded up..the bigger car would walk the smaller car down if both were tuned up.plus you can throw a V8 up in there.

Speaking as a current Grand Am owner and the previous owner of a late-model Cavalier (essentially the same car as the Sunfire).. go with the Grand Am.

The Grand Am is bigger and handles better. it rides better. and l think it looks better.

The V6 Grand Am would take the Sunfire any day when it comes to being faster.
