any one know where a fuel filter in on a 2002 grand am

Probably underneath between engine and fuel tank.

In front of the gas tank, up high.

Check underneath the back of your car by the gas tank or in the engine compartment near the carb.

If its not in the fuel line closer to the tank, than it might be in the tank.

Its usually not too hard to drop the tank but l hope U got a lift time and tools!

l believe it will be found in the gas tank follow the gas line from the front of the vehicle to the gas tank just to make sure. There is a page that u might want to check. l am including the site reference below.

For the 2.2L MF l DOHC (4cylinder) is on the Presure line going up the firewall.

Is inline Filter FF4508 $7.09 at Auto Zone

For the 3.4L SF l V6 .. is on the presure line just out of the fuel Tank..

Is the same filter . FF4508 $7.09

It is recommended to replace the fuel filter every 12000 to 15000 miles on this model.

on the 3400 v6?

Yep the fuel filter is inline on that car, if u jack the car up a bit & crawl under, u will see it inline right after the fuel tank tucked up a bit going towards the motor.

One side if fitted with a screw in nut & the other will have a plastic fuel connector. You will need a fuel line disconnect tool to help remove it however u can try & do it with needle nose pliers, they will be two white tabs on the sides of that connection that work as a lock.
