Okay, so yesterday it ran fine. Started right up, ran like it should, l drove it 40 miles down the highway, stopped for gas, stopped at a friends house, and drove back home. Plenty of driving.
Well today, it wo not start. Period. it does not even try. l turn the key and nothing happens at all. I am thinking something in the security sensors is not registering that it is in park, or that my foot is on the brake.
I am wondering if there is a way l can either fix or bypass that?
one thing also to add, the gear shirt lever has been replaced. perhaps it was replaced incorrectly, and does not always trigger the park sensor? it does shift into park properly... shifting out and back in again does not help however, nor can the car be started from neutral.
The ignition switch wire sounds like it might be something to look into, how to l go about replacing one? sounds cheap which is good lol

My T/A did that. Try looking on your disributor cap and check to make sure the ignition wire is plugged in.

A: Before you go spending big bucks on a new starter or fuel pump. Check the The fuel pump relay. It could be dying and you might be able to save a large sum of money.

is the security light on? They are known for the ignition switch wiring breaking. no crank, just dash lights. you can repace the switch, by-passing it is a lot of work.

check to make sure ground wires are not loose. my car did this b4 and it was a wire

l know this will sound silly, but did you make sure there is enough juice in your battery, or that a wire did not come lose? Mine did the same thing and it was just a loose battery wire.

probably the passlock sensor which is part of the ignition cylinder done many!
