l was told by a mechanic that it was most likely an electrical glitch and that l shouldnt mind it.... The oil pressure light is quite annoying and l was wondering if there was a wire l could unplug or a fuse l could pull.

Get the damn thing repaired by a mechanic. Only an idiot would tell you to disconnect the oil pressure warning light. You have the oil pressure sending unit checked? They go bad causing the light to go on.

Replace your oil pressure sending unit. Get a real mechanic, too.

replace tha sensor that simple.
