l noticed that on the stereo screen display half of it is illuminated while the other half appears to be barely illuminated.Also some of the buttons used to operate the stereo are illuminated while some are not.Is there a way how l can correct the problem because it is hard to read them at night?

This for some reason has always been a problem with gm. If it`s under warranty take it back. If not you have to replace the leds on the circuit board or find the bad spot on the board.
