Sounds like a main berring,you better check it out cause if you throw a conecting rod,it will posibaly go though the block,and that will be the end of that engine,be sure oil level is always up to full and DONT beat on it,and use it till it dies.

there are multiple things that could have happened. the only real way is to tear it down and fix it. but it sounds like you spun a bearing either on the crank or rod. Thats a rebuild right there. if so do the whole engine just not the bottom end. make sure the oil pump is still oiling. good luck.

it sounds like a bad rod bearing a main would not sound like that it would have a much faster knock than this. Did you race the car?. it looks like a base grand prix to me. The 3100 V6 engine is NOT meant to be raced. Your car is totaled as it sits right now a rebuilt engine would cost you 1,700 to 2,000 just for the engine and another 500 to have installed. l would not drive the car like this because the rod will break and it will probably go thought the block.
