the head lights come oon but the dash board lights are not functioning. The fesus seem to be working fine and so is the batteries. but the engine is not rolling at all.What could be wrong?

Try checking that alternator. If there is no clicking sound when turning the key the car need a new alternator. Also, check the battery connections.

yes the battery & alternator check them & the easy way is to get jumpers & start car like that if after a while car starts overheating or bunch of lights come on on the dash board like ''ABS''(and l know what ABS stands for but when there is not enough power most of the stuff gets messed up like speedometer when u just press the gas in park or neutral the needle will go up like u drive) ''BATTERY'' any kind of lights except ''check engine'' when u drive u radio does not work only makes noise & when u push the gas it wo not accelerate much than it is bad alternator

Hi Anthony! From ur description of ur problem I'd recommend checking three things. First, disconnect the battery & check the cable ends at the battery for corrosion. This is a buildup on the cable where it touches the battery, u can take a pair of pliers & pull the battery bolt out of the cable to clean the end if u do find corrosion. It should be cleaned down to bare metal, u can use a screwdriver as a scraper but be sure to get it as clean as possible. If that does not do it, get a 12v test light & check all ur fuses in the underhood fuse block as well as the one inside the vehicle. Look for fuses that the test light either does not light on, or where the test light is dimmer than on the other fuses. If u find this, u may have a bad ignition switch. I've seen it a few times where the ignition switch had an internal problem & was not able to send enough voltage out on one circuit but was ok on others. You may also have a problem with ur starter, to check it take a 12v test light with the alligator clip hooked to a good ground touch the pointed end to the battery cable connction at the starter, this will tell u if ur ground connection is ok by lighting the light. Then touch the pointed end to the small purple wires connection & have someone turn the ignition switch to the crank position, the test light should light. If the test light lights but the starter does not work u will need to replace it.

okay this happened to me after l bought a new key, the key would unlock the doors but did not start the van. turns out you need a special coded key to start the van. so did you buy any chance get a new key?

as for the engine problems if any, sorry can not help
