Our 97 Grand Prix heat gradually got to the point where it only worked on 5 and when put on 1, 2, 3, or 4 the headlights went out. We replaced everything from the blower motor to resistor, you name it. We searched all over the net and it seemed like everyone who owned a Grand Prix close to this year was having the same problem we were having. l was at wits end as this had been going on for years and with winter approaching l was not going to go through it again. He decided to search the net one more time out of desperation and he found it. It was the ignition switch wires (orange wires) that needed to be replaced, not all that other stuff. If cost us about $100 but it was well worth it and now we can ride in our car comfortably, not too hot or too cold. Just remember to turn your heat or A/C off before turning the ignition off because l was told this is what causes this. Just a flaw in the car l guess. l just thought I'd help some poor desperate soul like me out. It was a long journey!

thanks for letting us know. l just bought a 2002 grand prix about 5 months ago and my blower only works on 3,4, and 5. and its really annoying. l can not even imagine if it only worked only on 5. l will be getting that fixed soon. thanks again.

l have a 2007 GP with a remote starter. The car starts up fine with the remote, but the fan and heater/defroster (when turned on before remote starting), does not come on. The car only starts to heat up after the key is inserted and rotated to the second position.
